Friday 3rd April
As the Easter break approaches I am sure you too are reflecting on what a ‘normal’ Easter break entails. Many children will be hoping to see family and friends, go on trips, experience annual Easter festivities, and I know from personal experience the conversations as to why this cannot happen are not easy.
George Spencer Academy lays its foundations on being a community school with the notion that we are here to support the families of the children within our care. If there is any support we can provide for you regarding the well-being of your child during this unprecedented time please do not hesitate to contact us at the school.
During the Easter break we will remain open to cater for the children of our key workers and our reception staff will be available over the phone to direct messages from you to the relevant person. We will be working on an increased skeleton timetable over the Easter break so please be aware that emails to Directors of Learning, Curriculum Leaders, teachers and support staff may not be responded to as swiftly as during term time.
I would like to take this opportunity to personally say how proud I am of your children. We monitor Google Classroom daily and it is rewarding to see so many students engaged in their activities, having dialogues with their teachers, meeting deadlines and truly demonstrating what we mean when we say we want them to be self assured learners who take responsibility for their own learning and their future. They really are incredible young people.
I wish you and your family a peaceful Easter break.
Yours sincerely,
H Corbett (Principal)
